The Victorian Micro Sprint scene is set to come alive this season with a successful Information night held last night. With the two cars already being constructed on display a great deal of interest was shown in the class by all who attended. The McLean Racing HQ was full of people from all areas of local speedway from promoters, drivers, officials and casual onlookers. Mark McLean gave a run down of the class, its origins and the proposed future of the class in Victoria. He also detailed the up-coming Tricorp Security 10000 which will raise the profile of the Micros in Victoria. Craig Mannix recounted their fact finding mission to Golburn and the racing action they witnessed, as well as the hospitality shown by the NSW drivers and officials. Afterwards a DVD was shown that highlighted Micro racing whilst everyone enjoyed the supper. Many questions were asked as the cars were inspected, prodded and poked and tried on for size. One of the attendees stated he will have a car up and running for the Portland round of the TRICORP 10000, starting his campaign by ordering a motor from the US later this week. Another couple stated that they are intending to purchase completed cars in the not too distant future. "We now have to get a couple of cars completed and start to promote the cars throughout the whole of Victoria, but I am certainly buoyed by the success of tonight." stated a excited Mark McLean. "We will also be holding a committee meeting early next week to officially formulate a club now that we have sufficient interest to warrant that action. In the words of that late great Aussie legend, Big Kev, "I'm excited", he said. Any Victorian that is keen to get into this high speed, low budget class contact Mark McLean on 0406455695.
